On the morning of 11 May 2026, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, students of the Chinese Studies Program, Faculty of Oriental Studies, held an exchange session with a delegation of lecturers and students from the Chinese Language Program of Naresuan University, Thailand.
To begin the program, Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa, representing the Chinese Studies Program, delivered a welcoming speech to the lecturers and students from Naresuan University, expressing her pleasure in receiving the delegation and joining the exchange. She briefly introduced the history and development of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Faculty of Oriental Studies, as well as its academic programs. In addition, she provided an overview of the Chinese Studies Program, highlighting its comprehensive curriculum and various internship, exchange, and international summer camp opportunities in China, which offer students valuable practical experiences and broaden their international perspectives.

On behalf of the Thai delegation, Dr. Thanattha Jantem expressed her sincere gratitude to Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa and the students of the Chinese Studies Program for their warm and thoughtful welcome. She shared her joy in taking part in this meaningful exchange and gave a brief introduction to Naresuan University, its Faculty of Humanities, and the Chinese Language Program. She also expressed her hope that the meeting would serve as a bridge connecting students from the two universities and open up further opportunities for exchange and cooperation in the future.

A highlight of the program was the presentation on Hanfu delivered by students of the Chinese Studies Program. From traditional costumes bearing the distinctive marks of different Chinese dynasties to the revival of Hanfu in contemporary life, the presentation offered Thai students deeper insight into the historical richness and refined beauty of Chinese culture.

The atmosphere became even more lively when Thai students had the opportunity to try on Hanfu with the guidance of Vietnamese students. The graceful, flowing garments, joyful laughter, and memorable photographs helped transform the distance between countries into the closeness of friends who share a common interest in the Chinese language and culture.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere, lecturers and students from both universities exchanged meaningful souvenirs and took group photos to capture memorable moments. The exchange not only helped students gain further knowledge of Chinese culture but also provided an opportunity for them to practise foreign language skills, enhance intercultural communication, and strengthen international friendship.

After the exchange, Pachara Lertwijitjarat, a student of the Chinese Language Program at Naresuan University, shared:
“I felt that the students here welcomed us very warmly and kindly. The lecturers were also very nice. I learned many interesting things about Hanfu. The students also prepared beautiful Hanfu outfits for the female students to try on, and next time I will definitely wait for the chance to try on a Hanfu outfit for men. In addition, Ms. Hoa shared about Chinese language teaching methods with many creative classroom activities. After learning about these approaches, I felt that they represented a very fresh way of thinking and made this visit a wonderful experience. I would like to thank Ms. Hoa and all the students sincerely.”
From stories about Hanfu to hands-on cultural experiences, the exchange left many beautiful memories and served as a bridge connecting Vietnamese and Thai students through their shared passion for language, culture, and international friendship.
