Exploring Chinese Cultural Geography from a new perspective: Impressions of Juniors Majoring in Chinese Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities after lessons with Professor Bi Geng, Lecturer at Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan
In the first semester of the 2024-2025 academic year, juniors majoring in Chinese Studies at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU Hanoi) had the privilege to study Chinese Cultural Geography under the guidance of Associate Professor Bi Geng from the Institute of Literature and Law.

The course provided a comprehensive perspective on China, encompassing not only academic knowledge about its geography, territory, culture, customs, festivals and cuisine but also engaging us with vivid stories drawn from the professor’s personal experiences. Professor Bi guided us on a 'virtual tour' of the places he had visited, showcasing stunning natural landscapes and unique local cuisines deeply rooted in cultural traditions. Informative as they were, these lessons also captivated us, deepening our appreciation and love for Chinese culture.

What impressed us the most was Professor Bi's ability to inspire the entire class. Despite the online format, he fostered a warm and lively atmosphere by singing and reciting poetry. Songs about hometowns and landscapes not only provided relaxation but also deepened our connection to Chinese culture. His warm voice and heartfelt recitations made the online classes both engaging and unforgettable.
Additionally, we are very grateful for the dedicated support from Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa, who helped us get the opportunity to take this course. Despite the challenges of online learning, the thoughtful guidance of both Professor Bi and Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa ensured that the lessons proceeded smoothly and effectively.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Professor Bi Geng for his invaluable lessons, inspiring insights, and unwavering dedication. We sincerely hope to have more opportunities in the future to learn from him and further enrich our knowledge.
